Fire & Flower Holdings Corp. on Monday launched an e-commerce platform to sell adult-use recreational cannabis to customers in Saskatchewan, and accessory products to the rest of the country.

The online ordering service is available from the Edmonton-based retailer’s website, which requires declaration of legal age before entering the site. The customer’s order is delivered through “provincially approved delivery services.”

“The launch of our e-commerce platform demonstrates Fire & Flower’s commitment as a technology-focused and data-driven retailer,” said Trevor Fencott, Fire & Flower’s chief executive officer, in a statement. “Our intuitive e-commerce platform is leading the industry as a digital retailer in the emerging recreational cannabis market.”

Fire & Flower now has nine cannabis stores and four accessory outlets, with about 300 employees. In Saskatchewan, it has cannabis stores in North Battleford and Yorkton.

Executive vice-president Nathan Mison said Saskatchewan is the only province so far to license the online and delivery service. However, the company is poised for growth, he said.

“Our goal is to provide services in every province,” said Mison.

Fire & Flower said its nine stores had about $10 million in sales in the first 90 days since legalization. It has about $40 million cash in hand, and hopes to have 65 stores operating by July 2020.
